The Relay For Life of West Bend is off to a great start! We have lots of fun activities planned. The event will commence on Friday, August 1 at 6 pm with our Opening Ceremony and Survivor Lap. Our honorary chairs Patrick Prescott and Matthew Aschauer will lead the Survivors lap. Through the survivors’ lap we honor the people who have faced cancer, and we remember those have been lost to this disease. After the survivors lap everyone is encouraged to join in.  

This year’s Relay theme is the Olympics. Teams can decorate their sites with an Olympic flair and participate in Olympic themed activities. Special for 2008 is an Olympic Torch relay. Teams can sign up to walk/run the torch around the track. The goal is to keep the torch moving throughout the event.

The Olympic theme is carried through on the theme laps that start on Saturday, August 2 at 12 am. Participants are encouraged to show their spirit and creativity with country themed costumes. Teams who have the most participants that do all five themes will get to walk with the Milwaukee Brewers Racing Sausages around the track on Saturday morning and also get to choose their gifts first.

Our Relay brings friends, family and community members together to celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and to fight back against this disease. During the overnight event team members take turns to walk or run laps around the track. The event is designed to represent the fact that cancer never sleeps.

But, Relay isn't about taking laps -- it's about coming together in the fight against cancer. It’s a time to remember those lost to this disease and celebrate those who have survived. It’s a place where people connect with others, share the cancer experience, and find comfort and solace. And it's an opportunity to build hope for a future where cancer no longer threatens the lives of the people we love.

Located in the Old Settlers Park on Main Street in Historic Downtown Every Thursday there will be a team from the West Bend Relay for Life, downtown across from the Old Settlers Park selling Brats, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. Come downtown to enjoy the music and food.

On Wednesday Aug 6th Downtown West Bend is having "Maxwell Street Days" and our team will be selling Brats, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, chips, soda and water, with all proceeds going to the West Bend Relay For Life.  We will be located downtown Main street across from Tennis True Value.
There will be Great Food, Great Music, and Bargains Galore!
