Each year, across the nation, one event brings together entire communities to take part in the fight against cancer. That event is the American Cancer Society Relay For Life®. It’s a time and place where people come to celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those we’ve lost, and fight back against a disease that touches too many lives. Won’t you join us this year and be a part of Relay?
It’s not just an opportunity to celebrate, remember, and fight back. Your involvement will help the American Cancer Society work toward their mission of eliminating cancer as major health issue and will support much-needed services in your community. Thanks in part to the donations from Relay For Life and other events, the Society is saving lives, helping those touched by cancer, and empowering people to fight this disease all over the world.
I would like to say a special THANK YOU to everyone that made this year's Relay For Life a success: Committee members, Teams, Sponsors, Survivors, Cargivers and the Community. We had a wonderful event. This site will be updated soon with the money and Reward points, so keep checking in. I look forward to seeing you at the Post Event Bank Night on June 10th at 7:00 pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Thanks for being a part of Relay For Life!
Laura Evans, Event Chair
The Fight Back Express is Rolling into North Carolina
The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is sponsoring a nationwide bus tour with the goal of building a grassroots movement united in its mission to make cancer a top national priority. Our message: “If one person can battle cancer, a nation can rise up and defeat it.” The effort represents the largest grassroots mobilization campaign ever waged on the issue of cancer.
The Fight Back Express is traveling across 48 states, covering more than 25,000 miles during its six month journey which will conclude on Election Day, November 4th in Washington, D.C. The bus will be in eastern North Carolina from June 11 - 13 and make seven stops.

There will be many activities at each stop which will work to educate the public, lawmakers, candidates and the media about the importance of government as a critical partner in defeating cancer. One of the most important things that participants can do is to sign the bus! It will serve as a moving petition that will show the nation’s support for making cancer a top national priority.
Will you come to a local bus stop, sign the bus and make history?
