What is Relay? Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event where everyone can participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of 10 to 15 people or more from all walks of life camp out at Newport Harbor High School and take turns walking and running around the track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times, while special entertainment, music, and fun activities keep things lively. It is hours of fun and everyone is welcome. This is an event for people of all ages and levels of fitness and is open to everyone in the community, with teams formed between friends, family, schools and co-workers. No matter who you are, there is a place for you at Relay!
Hope Lights the Way. When the sun goes down, hundreds of luminaria bags light the way under the stars to remember those lost to cancer, those fighting cancer and won. This ceremony symbolizes the hope and perseverance with which we all continue to fight.
Honor Survivors. Survivors are invited to join us as our honorary guests in the survivor's lap, which begins Relay For Life. Your strength and courage help the community see that cancer survivorship is real - that we are making progress in the battle against cancer.
